This program is intended for interprofessional health care providers.

CMNRP partner organizations benefit from special registration fees

 

 

You qualify for a partner rate if you are an employee of one of the organizations below: 

 

FOUNDING PARTNERS: CHEO, TOH, KHSC

If you are an employee (e.g. RN, RPN, RT, SW) currently working in the Birthing Unit, the Mother-Baby Unit or the SCN/NICU of CHEO, TOH.  No fee

 

If you are an employee of one of these hospitals but currently working on another unit or department - Partner fee $195.

 

 

HOSPITAL PARTNERS: 

If you are an employee of the following hospitals:

 

Almonte General, Brockville General, Cornwall Community, Hawkesbury and District General, Montfort, Pembroke Regional,  Perth & Smiths Falls District, Queensway Carleton, Quinte Health Care, Winchester District Memorial.   Partner fee - $195.00

 

OTHER STAKEHOLDERS:

If your organization is not a contributing partner of CMNRP, or you are not an employee of the organizations mentioned above. (e.g. resident, midwife, physician, student).

Other Stakeholders fee - $250.00

Event Description

PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND ALL 4 WORKSHOPS DATES TO COMPLETE THE COURSE AND RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE.  NO "MAKE UP" DATES ARE SCHEDULED.

Prior to the workshop, participants must:

  • ‚ÄčThe ‘Certificate of Completion’ must be submitted June 15, 15:00 and sent to Ariane Cloutier: acloutier@cmnrp.ca. The cost of the exam ($30) is not included in the workshop fee.

Please note: The Canadian Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) Online Exam is available for purchase under the Final Evaluation tab in the online Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance – A Self-Learning Manual.

 

The exam must be written within 30 days of the workshop date.

 

***Review of the online manual can take up to 8hrs, completion of the exam can in most cases be done in 1-2 hours.  Please plan your time accordingly as workshop participation is incumbent on successful exam completion; learners who have not successfully completed the exam will not be able to attend the in person workshop.***

  • ZOOM information will be sent to the registrants before the workshop.

 

 

Objectives:

  • Discuss the current guidelines on intrapartum fetal health surveillance
  • Review and practice the techniques of FHR auscultation and EFM
  • Interpret FHR characteristics from both auscultation and EFM
  • Integrate the concepts of acid-base balance and the interpretation of fetal blood gas values in FHR interpretation
  • Identify important principles of verbal communication and written documentation
  • Outline supportive and corrective interventions for various FHR findings
